Not a Daily Blog

In your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them. ~Psalm 139:16

Just in case anyone has any confusion about the title . . . I will not be writing every day. (Or at least not that I know of ;) )

No, instead "Every Day Written" refers to a reminder that I need every day . . . that God has written every day of my life already.

I so easily get caught up in the concerns of life, both big and small, focused on all I need to to do, all I should do, forgetting that He who created the heavens and the earth, the Giver of life and breath, the only One who is perfectly wise, loving, and strong is in control.  He has it all under control!

In this there is much hope:  God is not surprised by anything that has happened, is happening, or will happen in my life.  And not only is He not surprised, He has thoughtfully and carefully planned out all things for good, including my days.  And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.  (Romans 8:28)

In this there is much peace:  life is not dependent on my strengths or abilities or wisdom. . . but on God, whose strength, ability, and wisdom are so far beyond mine (and all of ours) that His weakness is stronger than my strength.  For the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.  (I Corinthians 1:25)

In this there is much freedom:  freedom from the burden of worry, freedom from the destructiveness of self-focus, freedom from the mirage of control . . . instead of worrying about looking out for me, trusting in what Christ has done and is doing in me, living life out of the freedom He provides. There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death.

It is still a journey, one that I am very much only at the beginning of, in trusting and hoping in the One who is the center of all existence.   For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever. Amen. (Romans 11:36)

Join me, if you like, in my musings as I travel this path, seeking to understand this truth of God and let it change me!
